Welcome aboard Carpe Diem, a beautiful 55ft narrowboat perfectly situated on the Macclesfield Canal, allowing over 25 miles of lock-free cruising through the beautiful Cheshire countryside. This boat was once my home for many years, and I’m now proud to now be able to allow others the opportunity to enjoy the fantastic canal boat experience.

🛏 Sleeping Arrangements

The boat sleeps up to 4 guests, ideal for couples or small families:

• Cosy double bed in the snug

• Large luxury double sofa bed in the saloon

Well-behaved dogs are welcome:
2 small dogs or 1 large dog maximum 🐾

🛋 Saloon & Living Space

Relax in the comfortable saloon featuring:

• Large sofa

• Flat-screen Smart TV

• 4G/5G WiFi dongle

• Breakfast bar for 2

• Two fold-away dining tables

• Perfect movie-night setup

Everything you need for a stress-free stay:

• Ample worktop space

• Oven with separate grill

• 4 gas hobs

• Sink with drainer

• Fresh coffee, tea bags, washing up liquid provided

• De’Longhi espresso machine ☕

🚿 Bathroom

Hotel-style comfort on the water:

• Full-size shower

• Washbasin

• Thetford porcelain cassette toilet (electric flush)

• Spare cassette provided

• Low-wattage hairdryer

• Ample cosmetic storage

• Toilet roll, soap / shower gel and fresh towels provided

Cassettes can be emptied at official Elsan points along your journey or will be handled by your provider at the end of your stay.

A calm, cosy retreat featuring:

• Comfortable double bed

• Terrestrial TV & DVD player

• Wardrobe

• Shelved storage

• Fresh bedding provided for bedroom and sofa bed

🔥 Warm & Cosy All Year

• Webasto central heating throughout

• Fuel-burning stove at the bow, perfect for winter escapes and snug evenings in. Coal and kindling provided.

📍 Location – Macclesfield Canal (Adlington)

Moored at Lyme View Marina, offering:

• Secure car parking

• Easy loading access

• Laundrette & Elsan point facilities

Guests receive a full handover before setting off.
The boat is then moved to the towpath to begin the journey.

• Right: Bollington & Macclesfield

• Left: Poynton & Marple

• Adventurous: Peak Forest Canal – Goyt Valley, Disley, New Mills, Furness Vale & Buxworth
  (All achievable in a 7-day hire)

📆 Hire Options

• 3-day weekend breaks

• 7-day hires (Friday–Friday)
